Privacy Policy

The short version
- Your files are processed automatically and deleted from the server immediately after you download the result. Anything left over (e.g. an abandoned download) is purged within one hour.
- No account, no email, and no personal information is required to use any tool.
- No human ever views your files. We do not open, read, copy, index, or share them.
- File Forge is open source — every claim on this page can be verified by reading the code, and you can self-host the tool so your files never leave your machine at all.
Files you upload
When you use a tool, your file is transmitted over HTTPS to the server, processed in an automated pipeline, and stored only as long as needed to deliver the result:
- The uploaded file is deleted as soon as processing completes.
- The processed result is deleted the moment you download it.
- A scheduled cleanup removes any remaining file older than one hour.
Passwords you enter (for locked PDFs) are used only to decrypt the file during processing and are never stored.
Information we collect
We do not require or store names, emails, or accounts. Standard technical data (IP address, browser type) may appear in short-lived server logs used for abuse prevention (rate limiting) and debugging. We do not build profiles of users or sell any data.
Advertising and cookies
The public site may display ads served by Google AdSense to cover hosting costs and keep the tools free. Google may use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings. See how Google uses data from partner sites. File Forge itself sets no tracking cookies, and ads never have access to your uploaded files.
Third-party services
The site loads fonts and icons from public CDNs (Google Fonts, Cloudflare cdnjs). These providers may see your IP address as part of serving those assets. Your files are never sent to any third party.
Self-hosting
If you want zero third-party involvement, you can run File Forge on your own computer or server — the README explains how. In that setup, no data of any kind reaches us.
