The service
File Forge provides free, automated tools for processing PDF documents and images. The service is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising. The underlying software is open source under the MIT and Apache 2.0 licenses.
Acceptable use
- Only process files you own or have permission to process. The Unlock PDF tool requires the document's correct password — it must not be used to attempt unauthorized access to documents.
- Do not upload malware or content that is illegal to possess or distribute.
- Do not attempt to overload, scrape, or abuse the service. Rate limits are enforced to keep it available for everyone.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep it fast and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free conversions, or fitness for any particular purpose. Always keep your original files — File Forge never modifies the copy on your device, and processed files cannot be recovered after deletion.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, File Forge and its contributors are not liable for any damages arising from use of the service, including data loss, conversion errors, or service downtime.
Your files
You retain all rights to the files you process. We claim no ownership and, as described in the privacy policy, files are deleted automatically after processing.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance.
